I've been traveling to Greece almost every summer since I was in uni and a few badly written pieces of news were not going to stop me now. I embarked for my little island in the sun again, knowing that all that expects me there is absolute paradise, friendly locals and delicious food (gyros pita with extra tzatziki anyone?). I take my fun in the sun with a side of exploring heavenly sights, and the island of Paros delivers all this and more. The little sister of Santorini, boasts around 40 beautiful beaches, amazing weather and the clearest water I have ever seen.
A perfect stay on Paros starts at Butterfly Villas, where Pavlos sees to your every need (even the ones you did not know you had yet). You will arrive to a fully stocked fridge and pantry, a fruit basket, and delicious Greek wine. Did I mention fresh bread gets delivered to your door every morning? Embrace those carbs, you will need the energy for all the awesome things you will be doing!
What to do. Rent a car or a scooter and explore the tiny, yet heavenly island. Grab morning coffee in the village of Lefkes, then head down to the crystal clear waters of Kolimbrithes beach. End your day with a stroll through Parikia and catch the sunset over a delicious cocktail at Kastro.
Where to eat: I've had my best meal on the island in Naoussa's Venetian port. It was pasta accompanied by a gorgeous view of the Mediterranean over candlelit tables and the most flavourful local rose wine. Mastiha was on the house, of course.
Where to shop: Embrace the island's bohemian chic vibe at Mina's Closet. The shop combines unique hand-made accessories, with carefully sourced local designer pieces. Doesn't hurt that Mina is always on hand to make you look and feel like a million bucks!
Have a brilliant day!
