Tuesday catches me already thinking about the weekend. I'm busy picking outfits for my upcoming trip to Montreal, which is actually harder than it sounds since I swore to limit myself to only two pair of shoes and about four outfits...okay five. Five is reasonable for a weekend, right? While I reconsider the amount of luggage I'll be needing, I'll take a break and share some of my favourite things about Quebec's largest city.
Where to stay. I usually go for Hotel Zero1 because of it's proximity to anything fun to do in the downtown area. You'll be close to Saint Catherine for shopping, old Montreal for some euro-vibes and Chinatown for delicious food. Their amazing patio with picture perfect city views and comfy couches is always a welcome bonus after spending all day running around.
What to eat. Enjoy the best view of Old Montreal from the rooftop patio of the Place d'Armes Hotel, while feasting on the delicious $20 two course lunch and indulging in a nice glass (or three) of rose.
What to do. Do find your inner fashionista at the Fashion and Design Festival. Usually held towards the end of August, the festival brings together the best of francophone fashion, music and art, while maintaining a down to earth appeal. You'll get to hang out with trendy bloggers, get down to the coolest tunes during the impromptu concerts and grab some epic snacks - all while paying $0 for admission.
What to wear. If you're craving some space to let your inner unicorn run free, now is the time! If looking to freshen up your wardrobe, adventure into the world of fashion trucks. That's right! I said fashion trucks. Food trucks are so 2014 and so lacking in boutique, one of a kind staple fall items. You'll find these amongst all other cool things to check off your bucket list at the aforementioned festival.
What is on your to do list when you visit Montreal?
Have a brilliant day!
