-20 degrees and freezing rains are pretty much the norm during Canadian winters - let's just say that "I can't feel my face when I'm with you" is more of a reality than a song around here. I like to think of battling wrinkles under these conditions just like that fight scene in The Matrix that just like keeps on going..."That's the sound of inevitability Mr. Anderson"...
My usual moisturizer, while doing a great job at keeping my breakouts under control, is helpless in keeping my skin hydrated during these harsh conditions, so when I was offered the opportunity to try the new Neutrogena Hydro Boost line, I literally pranced around like a unicorn. Literally! I've been using their shampoo for years because it's the only one that keeps my scalp happy, so I was very curious to see how they do in skincare.
The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream and Gel Cream for Extra Dry Skin. I did not think that I would need the version of this for extra dry skin, but after shovelling snow for an hour in a blizzard, I was proven wrong. So wrong! The light-weight non-greasy formula absorbs so quickly leaving my skin bright and soft. I am in love with both of these products! I'll be alternating them depending on how crazy the weather gets.
The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream SPF 15. Now I found that the formula for this one didn't really agree with my skin. It felt a little bit too greasy compared to how wonderful the other products from this line absorb into the skin. I have a sneaky suspicion it might be because of the added SPF ingredients. That being said, I am still waiting to find an SPF cream that my skin would approve of, so I'm super picky like that.
The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Eye Cream. The texture of this eye cream is so soothing, especially after staring at my laptop screen all day. I like to apply it at night as part of my little pre-bed pampering ritual. I would definitely recommend this if you're on the lookout for an affordable way of protecting and moisturizing the sensitive skin around the eyes during harsh weather.
Have you tried any of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost line products? What did you think about them?
Have a brilliant day!
